Parramatta Eels secure key talent with contract extensions

The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce the re-signing of four players, reinforcing the Club's commitment to developing and retaining elite talent.

Front-rower Sam Tuivaiti has extended his contract for a further two years. A product of the Eels Pathways system, Tuivaiti’s extension is a proud moment for the Club as it continues to invest in its junior players.

“Sam has worked incredibly hard to earn this opportunity under Head Coach Jason Ryles,” said Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football, Mark O’Neill. “As a Club we have allowed time for Sam to develop and best prepare him for the rigours of NRL football which he has contributed very well in the matches he has played so far. Sam is of great character, and we are excited about what’s to come for him over the next few years.”

Centre Will Penisini, one of the Club’s most consistent performers, has also re-committed to the Blue & Gold until the end of 2026.

“Will is a class act on and off the field,” O’Neill said. “He loves the Club and brings strike, leadership, and professionalism to our squad. We’re delighted he’s staying with us as we continue to build our playing roster.

Young forward Toni Mataele has extended his contract until the end of next season, 2026. Playmaker Ronald Volkman has also extended his time with the Club until the end of 2026.

“Toni has shown tremendous potential and determination to succeed throughout his journey in our elite pathways,” O’Neill said. “His progression has been impressive, and his recent NRL debut was a well-earned reward for the effort he has put into his training and his game. We believe he has a big future at the Eels.”

“Ronald is a skillful and intelligent footballer. He has overcome a lot of adversity in recent years but appears to have found a home at the Eels. We’re excited to support his continued growth in our system.”
