Vale: Tom Croghan

The Parramatta Eels are saddened to learn of the passing of Tom Croghan, Eel #178.

Tom made his first grade debut for the Blue & Gold in Round 15 of the 1959 NSWRFL season, taking the field on the wing against Manly. He went on to play eight games for the club across the 1959 and 1960 seasons and also featured in the 1959 City Cup clash against Canterbury.

Rugby league ran in the family, with Tom following in the footsteps of his brother Ron Croghan - Eel #15 - who played three games for Parramatta between 1947 and 1948.

Tom maintained connections with his former teammates and was a regular attendee of the Blue & Gold Alliance player reunions until illness prevented him from attending.

The Parramatta Eels extend our heartfelt condolences to Tom’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Forever Eel #178.
