The Parramatta Eels School Blitz returned yesterday, visiting nearly 35,000 students across 70 schools delivering a powerful day of inspiration and community connection across Western Sydney, in the biggest school visitation recorded by one NRL Club in a single day.
Now a cornerstone of the club’s community calendar, the School Blitz has been running annually in Term 1 for more than 16 years. What began as a grassroots engagement initiative has grown into the largest school participation program across the NRL, highlighting the strong bond between the Parramatta Eels and their community.
This year, 37 Eels players visited 70 schools across the region, each attending between three and five schools in a single day. From whole-school assemblies to playground skills sessions, players shared their personal journeys, promoted the importance of staying active and encouraged students to get involved in junior rugby league.
The program is about more than football. It focuses on building confident, resilient and connected young people through a blend of sport and wellbeing education.
In 2026:
- 70 schools are registered in the program
- 30 schools will participate in the Active Kids Program, promoting physical activity and fundamental movement skills
- 40 schools will host a Wellbeing Presentation focused on resilience, teamwork, goal setting and positive decision-making
By combining elite sport with practical life lessons, the Eels are ensuring students leave not only excited about rugby league, but empowered in their everyday lives.
The School Blitz also plays a key role in growing junior participation across Western Sydney, helping create the next generation of Eels.
Later this year, the club’s NRLW squad will host its own School Blitz, continuing to inspire young people across the region.
