The 2026 Ken Stephen Medal – Man of the Year, recognises the genuine contributions an NRL player has made not only on the field, but their positive impact in their local community.
Josh Addo-Carr, affectionately known as 'Foxx' by rugby league fans, has consistently shown an unwavering commitment to giving back, using his time, influence and leadership to support Indigenous and local communities.
Through his JAC Academy, he regularly visits remote communities and schools across locations including Redfern, Yarrabah, Palm Island, Townsville and Cairns, promoting education, wellbeing and youth development.
Josh actively supports organisations such as Tribal Warrior and Redfern Youth Connect, contributes to improving access to fresh food in Indigenous communities, and helps create employment pathways through NDIGI GROUP.
Through LET’S TROT, he supports grassroots sporting teams and Indigenous-owned businesses, while his Fox Development Squad provides mentorship and development opportunities for young people through sport and life skills.
Beyond these initiatives, Josh frequently visits sick children, donates merchandise, records personalised messages and volunteers his time to inspire and support others. His ongoing dedication to creating positive outcomes reflects a genuine commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of those around him and making him a worthy nominee for the Ken Stephen Medal.
Josh joins the nominees from each NRL Club who have been selected in the 2026 NRL Community Team of the Year, with players initially highlighted by their NRL club for going above and beyond in their commitment to volunteering.
The winner of the fan vote will come away with $1000 to give back to their junior rugby league club.
