The Parramatta Eels today announced that Chief Executive Officer Jim Sarantinos will step down from his role at the conclusion of the 2026 NRL season, bringing to a close more than a decade of service to the Club.
Sarantinos joined the Club in 2016 and has overseen a period of significant transformation across football, commercial operations, governance and community engagement.
Under his leadership, the Club returned to the Grand Final stage, achieved record membership growth, tripled revenue, established the Eels Foundation and Eels Institute, and delivered a world-class Centre of Excellence to support future generations of Eels players and staff. These foundations help set the Club up for the future.
Importantly, this improved commercial position has enabled us to invest more deeply across our men's, women's elite and Eels Academy football programs, and strengthen our connection with the community.
Sarantinos said the decision to step down had been made after considerable reflection.
"This Club has meant so much to me for so long, but I feel that the time is right," Sarantinos said.
"When I arrived in 2016, the Club was facing a difficult period in its proud history. There were many challenges ahead, but I held a deep belief that this Club could once again become the organisation its members, fans and community deserved."

We have worked hard to create a place where people enjoy coming to work, look out for one another and build strong relationships. The sense of connection that exists today is something I hope continues to grow.”

Parramatta Eels Chairman Matthew Beach paid tribute to Sarantinos for his leadership and contribution to the Club.

Sarantinos will remain in his role through to the completion of the 2026 season.
The Board will undertake a search process for a new CEO.
