The Pirtek Parramatta Eels will be after a much improved defensive effort when they meet the Wests Tigers in tomorrow night's Holden Cup clash at Leichhardt Oval.
After an emphatic first round win over the Warriors, the wheels fell off against the Bulldogs last week, despite a strong opening 20 minutes. It doesn't get any easier in round three when they play last year's NYC premiers.
The side has been disrupted somewhat with Kelepi Tanginoa and Vai Toutai both earning call ups to the NRL squad and such is their talent, they have held onto those spots for a second week in a row.
On the plus side is the return of Frazer Masinamua from illness, which will add plenty of muscle and skill to the Eels forward pack, but much of the responsibility will again fall onto the shoulders of the halves combination of Zach Dockar-Clay and Mitchell Brasington.
The Tigers have also made a one and one start to the season and will be hurting after a losing to Penrith on Sunday at Campbelltown. Curtis Sironen is an interesting selection on an extended bench for the home side as he returns from a shoulder reconstruction.
