Magpies to face Jets in Canterbury Cup Grand Final

The Canterbury Cup NSW Grand Final has been confirmed with the Wentworthville Magpies to face the Newtown Jets at Bankwest Stadium on Sunday 29 September.

It promises to be a huge day of action after the Wentworthville Magpies made it through to this year’s Grand Final from eighth position following their upset win over the second-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs in Saturday’s Preliminary Final.

They will face last year’s Grand Finalists Newtown Jets, who continued their own fairy tale run after finishing the season in seventh position and overcoming Minor Premier St George Illawarra Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.

Tickets are now available for the event, with pre-sale Tickets available through Ticketek for only $10 for adults and $30 for a family of four.

The tickets also entitle fans to see some of the brightest young talent coming through the ranks in the Jersey Flegg Cup Grand Final, with Canberra Raiders (4) to face South Sydney Rabbitohs (5). Gates will open before the Jersey Flegg Cup Grand Final at 12pm.

It will be a huge weekend of celebration for the NSWRL with the Grand Finals also to be decided for the Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday (no pre-sales, walk up tickets only).

The top two teams will face each other in the Ron Massey Cup with Minor Premier Wentworthville Magpies to face second-placed St Marys, while the Sydney Shield will be decided between Minor Premier Cabramatta and fourth-placed Ryde-Eastwood Hawks.
