Evans: I want to go out with a bang

Kane Evans hopes to tick one more thing off his bucket list with Parramatta before departing the Club at season’s end.

“Hopefully want to finish off this year by winning the comp. That’s the goal at the moment,” Evans said.

“I’m very blessed to still be part of this Club this year and I’ve learnt so much from all the players and staff and hopefully go out with a bang this year,” he said.

It’s a goal he probably shares with the rest of the playing group.

The Eels currently sit in third position ahead of Round 16 and need a top four finish to give themselves the best chance of a nudge at the Telstra Premiership.

The Rabbitohs will prove their first hurdle this Thursday, who are coming hot off a 56-16 win over the Sea Eagles.

“They’re definitely a quality forward pack and after last week’s game they’re going to be hard to stop,” Evans said.

“We are just going to focus on what we can do and if we can play to our standard and turn up on the night then I’m confident we can get the job done but it’s not going to be an easy one,” he said.

The Eels can also enter the clash with the heads held, after keeping the Storm to nil last Round.

“It’s given us confidence within each other, knowing we can hold a quality team like Melbourne to nil,” Evans said.

“It’s definitely good signs, we still have a lot of work to do but it’s definitely a good sign,” he said.

The Eels can leapfrog the Storm by improving their for and against.
