He was unstoppable in his debut year for the Eels. Playing in Round 1, making his first appearance for the Eels he did not disappoint. Papali'i had quickly impressed The Blue and Gold Army and is now a fan favourite.

Ice proved his great efforts through his 7 tries, 109 tackle breaks, 30 offloads, 809 tackles and 94.2% tackle efficiency.
He was also awarded Dally M Second Rower of the year, VB Hard Earned Player of the year and ELMO Debut Player of Year.
