As we approach one of the Parramatta Eels’ favourite weekends on the calendar, we look back at the best Easter Monday blockbusters against Wests Tigers.
Round 6, 2019 – Parramatta Eels open their new home in style
In 2019 the Easter Monday fixture aligned with the first-ever Parramatta Eels home game at CommBank Stadium.
The first game at the newly built arena was much anticipated. Having been built on the site of the old Parramatta Stadium and Cumberland Oval – the opening match was inextricably linked to the history of the Blue & Gold and the fans poured through the gates.
The sellout crowd of 29,047 witnessed a one-sided affair with the Eels showing off their full flair in attack. Halfback Mitch Moses became the first player to score a try, goal and field goal at the new venue as the Parramatta Eels emerged victors 51-6.

It took some Eels improvisation to swing the contest with tries to Kirisome Auva'a, Josh Hoffman and Semi Radradra leading the Blue & Gold to a 26-22 victory.
