Parramatta Eels to donate proceeds from ANZAC jersey to Invictus Australia

The Parramatta Eels will donate 10 dollars from every ANZAC Day jersey sold to Invictus Australia, a not-for-profit organisation which delivers opportunities for Veterans and their families to engage in sport.

Our players will proudly wear the ANZAC Day jersey on Sunday April 24 in their match against Newcastle Knights.

Now in its third year, our partnership with Invictus Australia aims to positively influence the recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration of current and former serving Defence Veterans who have been wounded or become ill during their service.

The ANZAC jersey design features a blue and gold camouflage in honour of our servicemen and women and is inspired by the shapes formed on the trunks of the Spotted Gum along the Parramatta River. The red poppy is prominent throughout the jersey as a symbol of remembrance and hope for a more peaceful future for all.

Jim Sarantinos, Parramatta Eels CEO said, “We are proud to work with Invictus Australia and to help support Veterans and their families for their service to our country.

“ANZAC Round is particularly special as we remember the brave men and women who have served our nation, and have given their lives to preserve the peace and freedom we all now enjoy.”

ANZAC Day and Invictus Australia provide an opportunity for the Australian public to recognise the challenges that can result from service, and to offer support to all Veterans and their families as they carve out their civilian lives.

Michael Hartung, CEO of Invictus Australia said, “It’s fantastic to work with the Parramatta Eels for the third consecutive year, as we share the belief in the power of sport to positively impact lives through staying active and connected.

“We are grateful to the Eels and their fans for the donations made through the sale of the ANZAC jerseys, as these funds make a huge impact on our ability to support local Veterans and their families in communities all around Australia.”
