Excitement is building amongst the Parramatta faithful, and some of our biggest fans are showing their true colours.
Students at Giant Steps have painted their school blue and gold in a heart-warming display of support for the Eels as the team heads into the most important game of the season tonight.
Giant Steps Principal Andrew Frakes said, “we love seeing our students express themselves and we certainly have some Eels supporters in our school who really enjoyed the opportunity to show their creativity.
“We’ve had a great relationship with Parramatta Eels for many years and there’ll be a few of us cheering on the team, especially Giant Steps Ambassador Reed Mahoney who plays his 100th game milestone for the Club.”
Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos said, “Our partnership with Giant Steps is important to the Club, and in particular to some of our NRL players like Reed, Dylan and Oregon who have benefited both on and off the field from their experiences as a teacher’s aide at the school while coming through our junior rep programs.
“Seeing the Giant Steps students support our Club through their own artwork is really special, and we hope we can give them more reasons to celebrate next week.”
Over the last eight years the Parramatta Eels have had an important relationship with Giant Steps, together we created a program to give our junior players an opportunity to study and work as teacher’s aides at Giant Steps while they train with the Eels.
Giant Steps Australia was founded in 1995 to support and educate children and young adults with Autism and their families.
