Centre of Excellence Update June 2024

A significant milestone was achieved in the construction of the Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence and Community Centre in mid-June with the installation of the grand Eels logo which will greet all visitors to the Eels’ new headquarters.

Manufactured by XL Precast, the logo was set into a prefabricated concrete wall split into two sections measuring:

  • Panel 1: 10.43m High x 2.808m wide x 245mm thick, weighing 16.65 Tonnes
  • Panel 2: 10.43m high x 2.835m wide x 245mm thick, weighing 17.3 Tonnes

The logo feature was transported from the manufacturer based in Yennora NSW to Kellyville in the early hours of the morning.

Everwilling Cranes provided a 300-tonne crane to lift the sections into their final
position and the team from Kane Constructions secured the walls in place. The positioning and joining of the two panels onsite signified a special moment for all involved in the project and the Eels content team were on hand to capture the moment.

Centre of Excellence Logo Installation

The Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence and Community Centre project is jointly funded by the Hills Shire Council, the Australian Government, NSW Government, and the Parramatta Leagues Club.

Significant progress continues to be made with the facilities due to open in early 2025.

Project update:
Kane Constructions has provided the following update. In May, structural works continued to the Centre of Excellence and Community Centre. Notable achievements include the installation of the first suspended slab to Centre of Excellence B and further precast panel installation. Additionally, screw piling to the upper SOG of the Community Building commenced.

In June, the project structure continues to progress with precast panel installation, upper slab on ground concrete pours, waterproofing to SOG, in ground services rough-in, concrete slab on ground, backfill to retaining walls, commencement of structural steel, and wall framing and services rough in. A great team outcome to date and we look forward to continuing these relationship as we strive to completion in 2025.
