Vale: Alf Hemsworth

The Parramatta Eels are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Alf Hemsworth, Eel #68 who passed away on Sunday, May 18 at the age of 92.

Alf Hemsworth proudly represented Parramatta for three seasons between 1951 and 1953, making his first grade debut in 1952.

His contribution to Parramatta included:

  • 1951: 3 games x Reserve Grade, and 13 games x U23s
  • 1952: 5 games x First Grade, 4 games x Reserve Grade, and 5 games x U23s
  • 1953: 1 game x Reserve Grade, and 13 games x U23s

He also played in a country game for Parramatta against Monaro.

Alf was a lifelong Parramatta supporter who lived in Parramatta for many years. He often spoke about his cherished Parramatta.

The Parramatta Eels extend their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alf Hemsworth at this difficult time – forever Eel #68.
