The Parramatta Eels are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dennis Mount – Eel #276.
Dennis played 19 first-grade games for Parramatta between 1970 and 1972, lining up alongside club greats such as Dick Thornett, Barry Rushworth and a young Bob O’Reilly. Known for his work ethic, honesty and reliability on the field, he also proved a capable goal-kicker, scoring two tries and 35 goals in the blue and gold.
In 1970, Dennis toured New Zealand with NSW Country Firsts under coach Arthur Summons and captain Johnny Raper. On his return, he again represented NSW Country Firsts against NSW City Firsts at the SCG, once more under the leadership of Summons and Raper.
Dennis also appeared in five Wills Cup pre-season matches for Parramatta between 1971 and 1972.
The Parramatta Eels extend their heartfelt condolences to Dennis’ family and friends.
Forever Eel #276.
