After a very successful launch to the Eels Institute in October 2025, the Parramatta Eels are proud to announce that the Eels Institute will be expanding to welcome another cohort of students in July 2026 who are eager to design careers that they love in sport, business and beyond.
In partnership with TAFE Queensland, the Eels Institute will offer a new Dual Diploma program to students in July 2026: Diploma of Project Management and Diploma of Leadership & Management. TAFE Queensland’s Academy of Sport Manager, Don Harley said this of the new program:
“The NRL is in a genuinely exciting phase of growth, not only domestically but internationally through initiatives like Las Vegas. This course is built around that concept, giving students insight into how clubs prepare for and deliver projects of that scale, and building their capacity to operate in those environments.”
This innovative, 12-month program will also be delivered in a hybrid format. Students’ timetables will consist of:
- 1 x day per week at the James Hardie of Excellence in Kellyville Memorial Park
- 1 x evening per week online
- Up to 3 x Saturdays over 12 months
Parramatta Eels’ Education Program Manager, Kirstene Ciappara said this of the hybrid approach: “I’m excited that we can offer the best of both worlds with this hybrid, study mode. Students will get to learn at the Parramatta Eels HQ and they’ll have the flexibility to navigate other commitments outside of their studies too.”
As part of all Eels Institute programs, students will also gain access to practical work experience at the Parramatta Eels. Students that enroll in this hybrid program will gain up to 50 hours of work experience with the Club to complement what they’re learning within their Dual Diploma program.
In a further commitment to nurturing top talent, students who complete their studies at the Eels Institute will also receive exclusive access to career opportunities at the Parramatta Eels. A minimum of two full-time roles will be on offer each calendar year for students who have completed their studies within that year. Graduates will also have the opportunity to pursue further study through TAFE Queensland’s network of partner universities.
No ATAR is required to apply, making this program accessible to passionate individuals who love sport and who want to develop their project management and leadership skills.
