Eels duo charged by Match Review Committee

Parramatta Eels duo Junior Paulo and Michael Jennings were charged by the NRL Match Review Committee following the Eels’ Round 19 victory over the Brisbane Broncos at Bankwest Stadium on Friday 18 September.

Eels forward Junior Paulo was charged with a Grade One – Dangerous Contact (other) charge for a tackle on Broncos forward David Fifita in the 42nd minute of the clash. With a base penalty of 100 points, Paulo entered an early guilty plea (75 points) for the charge meaning he will be available for selection in Round 20.

Eels centre Michael Jennings was charged with a Grade One – High Tackle (careless) for a tackle on Broncos centre Kotoni Staggs in the 47th minute of the clash. The charge carries a base penalty of $750.

With 50% loading due to a prior similar offence in the last two years, Jennings entered an early guilty plea and has been charged with a $850 fine.

Broncos forward Alex Glenn was charged with a Grade One Dangerous Contact – other charge for a tackle on Eels forward Reagan Campbell-Gillard in the third minute of the clash but will be avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.
