Eels named in Test team lists

Eight Eels have been named for their respective nations in Week 1 of the Pacific Championships.

Junior Paulo and Daejarn Asi will aim to upset Australia after being named to start in the World Cup Final rematch between the Kangaroos and Toa Samoa.

Captain Paulo will lead his nation out in the no. 10 jersey, while Asi debuts for Samoa as their new halfback.

NRLW skipper Kennedy Cherrington has earned a place on the Jillaroos' bench for their encounter with the Kiwi Ferns, on the back of winning the World Cup with Australia last year. Eels teammate Capri Paekau has been included on the Kiwi Ferns' reserves list.

Makahesi Makatoa is set for a trip to Papua New Guinea, having been named to start for the Cook Islands in their clash with the Kumuls.

He will be joined in Port Morseby by NRLW trio Lindsay Tui, Pihuka Berryman-Duff and Tafao Asaua, who have all been included in the Fetu Samoa squad for their match against Fiji.
