Scott Fava appointed inaugural HNWP Head Coach

The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce Scott Fava as their inaugural Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership Coach for the 2024 season.

Scott joins the Eels with a strong background in elite football, most recently as Head Coach Brumbies Super W, leading them to their first finals campaign in 2023, and as Wallaroos Assistant Coach.

The former Wallaby, Australian 7’s and 87-game Super Rugby player said he was delighted to join the Eels as the club’s inaugural Harvey Norman competition coach.

“I look forward to starting work on developing our next generation of NRLW players and instilling in them the knowledge and skills of what is required to take their football journey to the next level,” Fava said.

“I began my football journey in rugby league as a junior at the Greystanes Devils within the Parramatta catchment many years ago, so I am delighted to bring my learnings back to the blue and gold family.”

Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos said the appointment signalled an exciting era for women’s rugby league in the west.

“Scott brings a wealth of experience in professional women’s sport and was the best candidate for the position,” Sarantinos said.

“Our entry into the Harvey Norman competition is part of the Parramatta Eels strategic plan to ensure our young players have a dedicated pathway to NRLW, and ensures the club is represented across all competitions,” he added.

The Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership is the NSWRL’s premier women’s open-age competition, developing female players for the national competition.

Fava will work with the Club’s NRLW Head Coach, Steve Georgallis in nurturing the next generation of players in the Parramatta Eels High Performance Women’s program.

The Parramatta Eels Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership squad will kick-off their 2024 season against the Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday, July 6 at 3pm at 4 Pines Park.
