The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce the signing of rep duo Cassey Tohi-Hiku and Mahalia Murphy for the 2023 NRLW season.
The pair both represented City in the recent Country v City representative match, under head coach Kate Mullaly, who is also the Eels’ Female Coaching and Development Manager.
Murphy has represented the Australian Rugby 7s, Wallaroos and Jillaroos in her impressive career.
She also previously played for the St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRLW.
Tohi-Hiku played her inaugural NRLW season for the Eels in 2022, making four appearances and has also represented the Under 19s NSW Blues.
Head of Football Mark O’Neill welcomed the signings.
“Mahalia has shown her unique versatility and skills by representing Australia in both Rugby Union and Rugby League. Having played in such big occasions we know that Mahalia will be a valuable asset to our team.
Cassey is in terrific form, wonderful around the team and is currently in a growth phase of her career. We are glad to have not only such a talented player represent the Eels but someone who will become a fan favourite of the team over the coming years” O’Neill said.
