Ronald began his junior career with the Cabramatta Two Blues whilst attending Waverley College.
Volkman played for Norths in the NSW Cup Reserves during the 2021 and 2022 seasons before joining Redcliffe in the Queensland Cup in 2022. He signed with the New Zealand Warriors in 2023 and made his NRL debut against the Penrith Panthers the same year. In 2025, he joined the Parramatta Eels.
On the international stage, Volkman has represented Samoa, playing in the Pacific Championships 2023.
