Eels junior re-signs with NRLW team

Parramatta Eels junior Ruby-Jean Kennard has re-signed with the Club for a further two NRLW seasons until the end of 2024.

The 19-year-old had a breakout season for the Eels in 2022 and was the Club’s first junior to reach the top playing level, after previously playing in the Tarsha Gale Cup and juniors for the Toongabbie Tigers.

Kennard has this year also taken up the role of coach of the Under 7s Toongabbie Tigers team (her former Club).

The front-rower has also represented the Blues in the Under 19s State of Origin, played in the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership and is the only known player to rise through the junior elite pathway system at one Club.

Head of Football Mark O’Neill said, “The Eels are committed to developing juniors right up to first grade and this is just another success story for the Club.

“It’s exciting to see players like Ruby develop in our system and we look forward to many more players coming through,” he said.
